My Love's Conversations

Dark and twisted, full of joy, laughing till we cry
or weeping 'till the laughter comes
the conversations never falter, wickedly gleaming
from their eyes, every word a wink

a kiss; to life, achievements profound depths
that only we can know. If there be monsters,
let them sleep, undreaming of our breath
wakening only when we are gone

Intertwining thunders of our hearts
ageless, sexless, godless to some
only the call heard by none, felt by all
we care not of acid observation

These fleeting moments of years will pass
into some deep oblivion
except for words remembered by few
longhair music for the dead, painted by the gods

Tempt the fate, court disaster, try one's hand
try one's luck. For only this is living.
Fearlessly leaping into the void ourselves.
Unbell the cat. I fear not to be among the damned.
